1.1 The origins of business analysis

Business Analysis started to be established in the 1980's when IT systems issues or strategies were less limited by technology possibilities as data storage was getting cheaper, Internet communication was booming and systems languages were evolving.

Also more and more submitted to a various choice of IT solutions that could improve business efficiency. Information systems have now a huge impact on the performance of the business operations and in management decision-making. 

Nowadays, IT can enhance the portfolio of products/services offered by a company. It can either create opportunities or impacts negatively the business and not deliver the benefits expected.

This effect has triggered the increase of business analysis.
