9.1 The business case in the project life cycle

A business case is a living document throughout the project lifecycle.

It should be:
- produced after a feasibility study has been undertaken.
- confirmed after requirements are identified and confirmed.
- examined after the solution has been estimated in terms of costs and effort.
- revised after the solution has been implemented.
- checked when the solution is operational to make sure that the targeted benefits have been realised.
